PCOS

PCOS is manageable. Balance your hormones with care built around your body, not a template.

What is PCOS?

Polycystic ovary syndrome (PCOS) is one of the most common hormonal conditions in women of reproductive age, affecting roughly one in five Indian women. It involves irregular ovulation, excess androgen (male-pattern) hormones and, very often, insulin resistance.

PCOS looks different in every woman — irregular periods for one, acne and hair growth for another, weight struggles or fertility concerns for a third. That is why cookie-cutter advice fails, and personalized metabolic and hormonal care works.

Common Symptoms

Irregular, delayed or missed periods
Weight gain, especially around the waist
Acne along jawline or chin
Excess facial or body hair growth
Hair thinning on the scalp
Difficulty conceiving
Sugar cravings and energy crashes
Dark, velvety skin patches at neck

Causes & Risk Factors

PCOS arises from an interplay of insulin resistance, disrupted ovarian hormone signalling and genetics, amplified by lifestyle factors like poor sleep, chronic stress, inactivity and processed diets. Insulin resistance is present in a majority of women with PCOS — including many with normal weight.

How The Cure Cabin Helps

Our plans target the root drivers: insulin sensitivity through personalized nutrition and movement, cycle tracking, sleep and stress correction, and treatment of acne, hair and fertility concerns with the right specialists. Progress is measured in cycles, symptoms and labs — not just weight.

This page is for education, not diagnosis. Symptoms overlap between conditions — a proper medical evaluation is always the first step.

Frequently Asked Questions

Can PCOS go away?
PCOS is a chronic condition, but its symptoms can improve dramatically — and often normalize — with sustained lifestyle change and targeted treatment. Many women with PCOS conceive naturally after metabolic correction.
Do all women with PCOS have cysts?
No. The name is misleading — the 'cysts' are immature follicles, and not every woman with PCOS shows them on ultrasound. Diagnosis is based on a combination of criteria.
Is PCOS only about fertility?
No. Untreated PCOS raises long-term risk of type 2 diabetes, fatty liver and cardiovascular issues, which is why metabolic care matters even if pregnancy isn't your goal.
